This picture shows all of the positive clones in the ELISA from the 1st screen

While this picture shows just the clones that have a high response for the peptide the mice where injected with, a low response for any other random peptide, and furthermore a low response for BSA

FoxPB adult cell count

on Wednesday, October 24th, 2018 4:21 | by

I add another animal to the count (so now n=5) and the standard deviation increased. Since I used a very young fly it could be that the cell number is age dependent. But since it can be also individual differences, after San Diego I will make an age related analysis

FoxP-KO or WTB?

on Wednesday, October 17th, 2018 4:04 | by

Here´s  a picture of a WTB fly and a foxP-KO-homozigous. I dissected all together and I did not know which one was which. But I manage to recognize them, which means that they are well recognizable. Just to be sure i will do that another time. (Also in order to have better dissections).

The distance between the two “hemispheres” in the WTB has an average of 5,4 um (n=3)

The distance between the two “hemispheres” in the KO has an average of  32,2 um (n=2)

The length of the protocerebral bridge in the WTB has an average of 95,7 um (n=3)

The the protocerebral bridge in the KO has an average of  140,3 um (n=2)

The more brains I see, the more I am convinced that the problem is not about my dissection

Tries with IMARIS

on Friday, September 21st, 2018 2:07 | by

Me and Anders spent some time at the imaris trying to get confidence with the software. We managed to do volume rendering and we counted the FoxP-isoB positive cells

the count resulted really similar to the one I´ve done by eyes:
