LexA+Gal4 larvae

I tried the fast way but is not usable. Because without doing an additional crossing I have only GFP and RFP in heterozygosis. which gives a very weak signal. Furthermore I have to remove (flox) the dsRED that is there from the LexA insertion. Otherwise in the larva I see some cells that are red but that are due to the dsRED and not to the RFP. Which means other crossings. In total, to have this picture I need 5 crosses.

  1. That’s a lot of crosses. But I think it is necessary, if you want to document expression thoroughly.

Yes it´s a lot but it´s not so much time in total.. it´s just remembering to cross :) I think I would like to have this picture, it makes everything more complete
