A Lethal dosis for 50% of death (LD 50), the time when half of the flies are dead, was calculated for each experiment. The LD 50 of tßh mutant flies is significantly higher than the one of the control w+ while gender had no effect (ANOVA, gender: p=0.13, genotype: p<0.04). Data from male and female were thus pooled in the graphical representation. Boxplots represent medians (bar), quartiles (boxes) and whole data range (whiskers). N=32 for each of the two groups.
